Bilateral symmetry appears mainly in structures such as the brain, nervous system, skin, hair, and nails, and in parts of the eye and ear — all of which arise from the ectoderm (outer germ layer) of the embryo — and in some structures, including the skeleton and skeletal muscles, tendons, glands, and reproductive organs, which develop from the mesoderm (middle germ layer).
Movement is made more efficient (direction of movement better defined, resistance to water or sediments reduced)
higher mobility. More efficient in seeking food, finding mate, avoiding & escaping other predators.

It can notice things to eat in either left or right and can grab them whether they are to the left or right.

How about a flounder? They are predators and are the most asymmetrical ugly thing you will ever see since they are optimized for hiding on the ocean floor with both eyes on the side that is facing up.
