I am a fan of the classics. Though today's comedians are very funny with their observational type humor, I am more old fashioned. I would have to say that Charlie Chaplin is the greatest comedian to have lived thus far.

Groucho Marx was a comic genius, never lost for words a razor sharp comic brain. But my personal favourite was Tommy Cooper, good clean family fun.He is the only comedian/magician i have seen to walk on to a pitch black stage and have the audience in an uproar. That is some feat, which he did at the Palladium.Read his life story,a very funny man offstage as well as on.

problematic to declare. If we are speaking approximately stand-up comedy, i think of that between the funniest performances I ever observed replaced into Eddie Murphy's "Delirious". It replaced into finished interior the early 80's in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it remains humorous as hell. people who i chanced directly to be continually humorous by means of the years could be human beings like Don Rickles, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, invoice Cosby and Chris Rock.
