he smokes, does drugs, takes weight loss pills-even though hes skinny enough.
he keeps telling me its cause he got caught up with the wrong crowd.
i have told him many times i do not like the fact he does all this ****. i told him i dont want to see him die. but he keeps talkign about all of this stuff.
THEN he tells me he sold some pills he bought, because i told him not to take them, and now he said his dad found them yesterday.
so nows hes lying to me about it.
i told him that he can do whatever he wants, just dont talk to me about it, because it just makes me upset.
he then went on talking like nothing happened. so i told him i was pissed off about this stil, so now he wont talk to me.
this is really pissing me off.
what should i do?

I too have a friend that is helpless. Through the years, we have watched him go straight downhill from drugs of all kinds to drinking to frequent jail visits. No matter how harsh he has gotten with me, I never hit him. I should have, but I didn't (if they're f***ed up then they won't remember it). All of us have tried to save this person, but he refuses, and he uses the same excuses. After giving up trying to help him, I have decided that a person must help themselves before anyone else can help them.. With that in mind, I'm still friends and I do everything I can to be a good example, like a brother. I believe that if I wasn't there at some times, I would be one friend less.

It is really hard to watch someone you care about mess you their life like this but really you have told him you feelings. You have two choices you can keep telling him not to talk to you about it or you can listen to him and let him screw up his life and believe me he will, and then be there to help him pick up the pieces of what is left.

From my own experiences you cannot help someone who does not want to be helped until they admit they have a problem you just have to let them be and be there for them.

He will get caught at his own game and when he does he will need you so then the decision will be yours will you be there as a support system or will you turn your back on him?

My suggestion is to be there and help him it will make your friendship stronger but if he does loose you as a friend when he gets it together believe me he will realize what he has lost .

If you've tried talking to him then maybe you should just stay away from him for awhile. I know you probably care about him and don't want to see him do this to himself, but you can only do so much. You can't make him get rid of the drugs for good. He needs to be the one to realize what it will do to himself and he needs to be the one to lose the drugs forever.

'Hope this helps and good luck!

All you can do is be there when he falls. Yeah you can try and talk to him but he isn't really going to hear you. If you think it is that serious of a problem you should tell his parents or other trusted adult.

When he wants help be there for him, if he's not ready, stay away and only talk when he comes to you. He will not quit, until he is ready. If the problem gets bad enough, then maybe his parents will get him help.

Just tell him your sorry and tell him you just care bout him ...

When you see him doing it, take it away and give him a hug, and tell him you don't want him to die..
