None of the members of congress called the general that. Get your story straight. The only reason Congress agreed to the war is because they were lied to about (nonexistent) WMDs. They did approve of General Petraeus deservedly so and have treated him respectfully. Some do question whether he is just parroting what Bush and the White House admin. told him to. Lose? Right now we are supervising a civil war that is the result of us going in and creating havoc. But you're right in one way. We'll never leave now. We're stuck there losing money and good people for at least 5 more years.

Among other reasons for CONGRESS CHOOSING Patreus was they trusted him. Now that he doesn't come on bended knee begging for permission of surrender.....Congress now accuses a career military general of 'partisanship'. Yeah, he'd lie and risk the wrath of a Dem President should they win the next election. Shows once again that the libs are more concerned with winning the election than winning the war.
If you can’t stand behind our troops, Feel free to stand in front of them.

All this before they have even listened to his speech. See the presentation this morning? It was prefaced by the two Chairmen of the House Committees on Armed Services and Foreign Policy, Skelton and Lantos. They lambasted the General for presenting Bush administration talking points.
The General responded after that 45 minute harangue that 1) This is his own report; he wrote it himself, and 2) it has not yet been seen by neither the administration nor the Pentagon.
Democrats are so open-minded and tolerant. . . (sarcasm intended). Their opening statements underscore their total lack of experience with military and foreign policy affairs.

Oh, but isn't this the way lefties "support the troops"? By calling them Nazis (Dick Durbin), murderers (John Murtha), stupid (John Kerry). And now we have liberals practically calling this general a liar and a betrayer. Liberals say they support the troops, then turn around and stab them in the back. Pathetic. It is no wonder that the Democrat mascot is a jackass.

He was installed with 100% of congress behind him. Now that he is not tickling their ears with the Dem party line he's a betrayer.
They hate the message so they shoot the messenger. Kind of like a fickle king.

It is a sad day. These were the people who voted to go into Iraq. Now they turn a deaf ear when someone says something positive about the war.

Who actually said this? One of the voices in your head?
I haven't heard of this, and right-wing nutjobs are constantly lying about things like this, so there's really no reason to take you seriously until you provide some proof.

Congress only voted for this war because Bush lied. Had he told the truth, Congress--Republican and Democrat--would never have voted for it.
Andour troops? Sending troops into harm's way without good reason is the WORST betrayal of their trust.
The guilt--and the blood of 3800 wasted lives-is on the hands of Bush and his supporters. And on the officers like Petraus, who hasn't had the guts to retire so he can speak out against this war, like so many other flag officers have done.
Support our troops--BRING THEM HOME
Or stop pretending to be a patriot

The Democrats call that supporting the troops.
You don't give the answer that I want you to give then you are an unethical liar. They have been working up their courage to attack him for months now.
Obviously, the General doesn't understand how important winning elections is for the Democrats.
