If you want to look there will be hardly any parent who does not look back on child rearing absolutely certain that they gave their full and undivided attention all the time. What mother has not lost sight of her kid in a busy shop, let go of her hand near a busy road, left her to play outside while doing the housework, talked to the neigbour and stopped thinking of the child for a few minutes, answered the phone while the kid was near the cooker. The list goes on and on.

The only reason most people are not in the McCanns position is that they were lucky on those times when they should have been more careful.

Considering that the McCanns have not even been formally charged at this moment, this question is pretty tasteless.

The media has stirred up a frenzy of opinion over the case of missing Madeline but I doubt that anybody here can give an objective answer because the full facts of the case aren't available. I don't trust what I read in the papers and nor should you.

If enough evidence is found to convict the McCanns of harming their child then maybe this question would have some relevance.

Having said that, I can't believe that they left their children to go and enjoy dinner at a restaurant, no matter how close to the apartment it was. I know I certainly wouldn't.

I'd have to say NO, as when i came home and the baby sitter left, I would expect to find my daughter in her bed, sleeping like a baby, just as i left her.
And as i have always had a babysitter whenever i have gone out, that is just the way i have always found her when i came home.

Yes... and also if they have children born here in the States they shouldn't be separated from them and deported. They are our close neighbors and just want to work hard to have a better life. So yes i would let them babysit for me. But I would say no to the Canadians, because they already have better jobs than our central american friends

If they could see where they were sleeping from where they were eating and drinking and left the door open so anyone could walk in, of course, not.
