No way! They would not be able to do anything without a cell phone, ipod, computer, Internet, and many many other things that we did not have.

I don't think kids today would be the way (some of) them are if school were like it was then.

Schools were definitely a lot safer to be in back then!! There's a lot of things that could make a difference in it, like back then there wasn't as much overcrowding as there is now, just to name one.
