All the characters where amazing, JRR Tolkien new how to enthrall his readers. My personal favourite is Arwen, the Elf maiden who gave up her immortal inheritance for a normal life with the man she loved. And how she influences her father, Elrond to reforge the sword (Narsil) for Aragorn.

I really wish Bilbo had a larger part in The Lord of the Rings, since I loved The Hobbit so much, I would have to say my favorite character was Tom Bombadil. I was so disappointed that he was left out of the movie, and even though it was such a minor part, the songs somehow got stuck in my head and it seemed obvious to my that Tolkien really lked Tom as well.

My favorite character is Faramir, because of his morality, his gentleness, and his goodness.
His father was in the throes of madness and lusted after the power the Ring would give him. And Faramir knew that he wanted it as well, but he stood by his promise that he would not take it and he helped Frodo by giving him food and warning him about Cirith Ungol.
Faramir was the friend that Frodo and Sam never expected to meet and he proved to be a valuable ally as he stood before his father, saying that he still would not have taken the Ring even if his father had decreed it. He is my favorite character.

Ooo, I really liked Arwen too, and I wish there had been more female characters in the book. But whatever, it's not like I'm not used to that.
I think Gandalf was my overall favorite, with Tom Bombadil finishing a close second. You always need a wise anchor in a book, and Gandalf provided that with satisfaction. And I liked Tom's innocence combined with wisdom, it was a unique character experience. And I hated that they cut him out of the movie, I was sooo looking forward to seeing him on screen.
I love Lord of the Rings.... good plot, good story, good people. :]

Aragorn. Hes the epitome of a reluctant hero who rises beyond what is expected of him in his task. Incredibly brave, remarkably strong from within the kind of hero that legends are made.

I loved Arwen,but my fav character is Gollum,he's such a good character.Loved Arwen too though.

my favorite charecter in lord of the rings is sam because even though frodo said that we didn't want sam to come and that gollum blamed him for eating bread and everyone hated him he still had the courage to kill the giant spider and help froddo the whole way through
