Who do you think should pay for the minneapolis bridge collapse?

But why should the taxpayers cover the cost, isnt actually the Dep. of Transportation responsible?

No matter which government association funds it, all the money does come from taxpayers.

But, in answer to your initial question, the money should come from federal funds as that was a bridge that was an Interstate bridge.

The Department of Transportation is funded by taxes, so just get used to the fact that taxpayers are going to pay for it.

Taxpayers in the nearby states, along with state and federal money.

I don't like the idea of the whole nation paying increased taxes just because they didn't maintain their bridge right.

It's a government project, so it should be funded by federal, state and local sources.

And the Department of Transportation is part of the federal government.
