Rid-Ex and Clogs?

My bathroom sink started to drain very slowly so I used Drano and that made things worse. Now my sink takes at least 3 hours to drain. I cleaned out the U shaped pipe and it still takes forever to drain. I was wondering if anyone has had any success using Rid-Ex in a bathroom sink. I really cant afford to hire a plumber either. Thanks for the feedback!

if its your house and you dont have to worry about a landlord. Try taking a length of wire, like an unlooped coat hanger, and fish it into the wall where the pipe drains to the rest of the house. If the trap is clean, you must have a big hairball or something in there. your best bet is to get a "snake" and get it cleaned out. Ask around, you would be surprised how many people actually own one that you can borrow.

Rid-X is a slow acting enzyme that helps break up bacteria, etc in septic tanks, I wouldnt recommend putting it down the drain. In fact, if worse comes to worse and you need a plumber, be sure to tell him you put Drano down the drain as it can sit in pipes and cause fumes, which could come back on an unexpecting plumbers face.

Before the ridx I would try and Entire bottle of Drano, the thickest and strongest they make. Some people dont have the patience to let the chemical sit and do its work. Just be careful.

rid ex will not hurt your pipes and it will not harm the city sewer systems it is merely active enzymes that eat up the bacterias so that the tank ( or sewer line) will be cleaner

as for your sink it is more likely that your clog in the line is a bit further down your line than merely the 'p-trap'

use a 4 dollar plunger and your problem should be solved

Rid -ex is for septic tanks. Not knowing if you have a septic tank or run on city water it makes it hard to advise one way or another. A little more info on your water source will help.

rid-x is a yeast,or enzime, made for the tank, [septic]
might try it, but sounds like you need to snake the drain,
check with a freind to see if they have one,

Use baking soda and vinegar, dump them in the sink with warm water and that should do the trick!

rodding is the only surefire way to unclog drains.

you'll have to remove the P trap to do this, but remember now, someone used caustic chemicals, so you might burn your hands.:(
