I know this seems kind of morbid however, I recall how a lot of the Middle Eastern World was dancing in the street on 9/11. If we were ever to capture Bin Laden and or kill him would the streets over-flow here? Would it be a day to hug your neighbor or give a high five to a stranger as everyone danced in the streets with their American flags ? I can see it breaking into every broadcast across the country at the same time. I can see people cheering in bars! It's sick but I can see it and I have to say I would be cheering just as loud as anyone else.

The death or capture of Bin Laden alone will not end Al Quaida. Al Quaida is an extremely loose network of leaders and does not follow a solid heirchial structure like our government. There are many d**shbags that can easily replace his role. So we would also have to capture all the remaining officals and seize all their sources of arms. It would also make him a martyr since those Islamic extremists are heavily intoxicated with religion and spirituality to a point were it severly effects their ability to think logicaly.

If Bin Laden were killed, I expect people in the US would be really excited and celebrating for a day or so. They wouldn't make it a national holiday; we've never had a holiday to celebrate killing somebody. We don't celebrate the day of Hitler's death or Mussolini's death, though I'm sure people did some celebrating at the time. The death of bin Laden isn't comparable to July 4 or Veterans Day (commemorating the end of WWII in Europe). Bin Laden isn't the whole enemy, and his death would not bring peace.

I doubt we would ever know about it. It would make him a martyr and that is the last thing we need right now. The fanatics in the Middle East do not think or reason the way we do in the West. It would make more sense to simply bury his body in the hills and then make sure that no one ever finds out what happened to him. He would simply disappear and never be heard from again. Yea you don't get the satisfaction of dancing on the grave but sometimes you have to be satisfied with the moral victory.

Well I don't know about anyone else, but I for one would be celebrating for sure. The guy is pure evil and I look forward to the day when he is caught and brought to justice. Thing that gets me though, is that we can see our own house from a satellite in outer space on Google Earth, but we can't find Osama bin Laden. How frustrating!

By the time that were to happen everybody would probably be saying 'Bin who?'. Seriously, we'll be fighting one of his successors so much and with our military's success rate at catching this guy it could be another 20 years before he is found so everybody might forget Bin Laden, hopefully (he doesn't deserve any fame) but they will probably remember the Bush follies that came afterward.

Yes a good idea but why not replace Guy Fawkes with Bin Laden and burn his effigy every Nov, 5th.

It would be noted, as we do VJ day, but very few folks even know when it is, and fewer have it off.

The difference is that he is only a figure-head, who cowardly instructed others to fight his battles. The enemy will be around for a generation or two; that is if the socialists don't tip the balance, and have us surrender.

I think everyone will remember him for how pathetic he is going to look before the execution is carried out. Similar to Saddam.
