im in 8th grade and 13 years old, i don't have my period
am i ok because all my friends have their periods and when one of my friends found out she said "Ew thats gay you don't have your period" and now im mad.

The pains of being young.. peers can be cruel.. but take that with a grain of salt. First it is no one's business, but you, your parents, and your doctor, regarding when you have your period.. whether you've had one or not.
If someone is bold enough to ask you if you've had your period.. and you don't want to answer.. counter their question with.. "Why do you want to know?" Usually most people back down and drop the question.. and you can keep some privacy.
As for your period.. a woman can get her period from as early as 8 years old to as late as 16 or 17 years old. Everyone's body is different.. and there is nothing you can do to make your period come sooner, than when nature has already planned.
For now.. enjoy not having a period.. believe me.. once you have it .. you'll have it most of your life.. and their messy, and the cramps hurt, and sometimes you get headaches even.. on a good note, you'll be able to be a mother someday and it will make you feel more like a woman.
But for now.. enjoy not having it. It will come. And if you get nervous about not having it.. ask your mom to take you to a doctor.. but give your body until at least 16.
You'll be okay. You're biggest issue is sounds like is dealing with your friends.

Hmm, sounds like your friend is a little immature!!
alright, so i did not start my period until the month before my 14th birthday and by then it seemed like EVERYONE was having it! Well there are a few things that could contribute to this: if you are under 100 pounds, you won't have it for a while (or until you reach the 100 lbs) at least this is what my friend's doctor (my friend is 15) told her. so yeah, don't worry about it, it will come soon enough!! although i really wanted mine and didn't like it when people told me this, but really, thats the only way to do it. Or if you are really worried about this, just go see your doctor or ask a trusted female. i am sure they will be glad to help!! :]

FIRST forget about that friend she sounds like a ***** no offence,lol.
SECOND im the same age as you i have a variety of different friends of diffrent ages
Some of my 16 yr old friends havent gotten there period yet
(i was nice enough to be understanding)
Everybody goes through this at there own pase, dont worry and yes you def have the write to be mad at your friend but not at yourself

I am in 8th grade also my friends used to talk about it all the time and i would feel left out, all my friends said i was lucky and i said why i really want it, and omg i just got it and it is a pain in the butt! dont rush it i will come......it isnt that big of a deal you could just say omg guys i just got it or i already got it and play along.

Yes you are ok. Some girls don't start their periods til 16. If the period still doesn't come by then this needs to be evaluated by the doctor. But for now, please talk to your mom to find out when she started her period because sometimes when your mom starts her period can indicate when you'll have your period.

lol there is nothing wrong with u and it is def not gay lol no offense. i am 13 and it is no big deal i have mine but whatever it doesnt matter cuz to tell u the truth it sucks to have ur period i know that everybody wants to have there periods cuz everyone has it and they dont wanna be left out i felt like that to up unil last year whn i got mine and it suks cuz u get cramps and have to wear pads or tampons and it is a pain in the *** omg tell her she prob shoved her tampon up to high cuz she has and attutude there is nothing gay about not having ur period.

It's okay i felt like that too you don't need to worry your body is not ready trust me it'll come when you least expect it and be happy that you don't have it now do you really want cramps,headaches, and bloating. Some girls don't get it till there 16. Don't let it get to you.

your friend is just jealous that you're free and you don't have to worry about wearing uncomfortable pads and tampons.....getting your period isn't "fun" you have to go to the bathroom every 4 hours and its really annoying cuz sometimes u get cramps and they seem to always come when u don't want them to....so just enjoy a period-free life.....cuz the rest of us have to wait until we're 50 lol

You could also tell your friend in a couple weeks that you got it. What's she gonna do, ask to see a used pad????????

Not getting your period does not make you gay. You'll get don't worry, some girls don't even get it untill their 18. Just enjoy not having it. You'll have it most likely 30 35 yrs.
