I am a PF/SF and since its middle school. Theres lots of 6th grades on it really short. Me and my other 3 8th grade friends are the only good ones. They dont run there drills correctly cause there really short. We didnt have to try out since theres not eough people to have a actual try out. Will I have to lead this team? Since the only good people are the starters?

Leading the team means you don't look down on everyone else as you are doing. Being the oldest won't make you the leader either. Setting a good example for practicing hard, doing the little things on the court that nobody likes doing (like playing good defense, setting good screens, rebounding, diving for loose balls, etc.), helping the younger kids and being instrumental in their improvement, things like that.
The success of your team, strange as it sounds, is not in the hands of the 8th graders, it's in the hands of the younger kids. They get better and you have a chance to be good. So you need to teach and encourage and lead them.
I know you have a coach but he is only one person and can't do everything. You have an opportunity to set the tone but it'll take an attitude adjustment. I wonder what you'll choose.

Well, I might suggest that you will probably have to lead the team at first. Sounds like the others will need some time to adapt and it would be good if you and the other experienced players could help them get better. Don't go into it with the attitude that you are the only good ones, height does not necessarily mean anyone is better. There are plenty of examples of smaller players with talent (John Stockton comes to mind)

well...i play PF also.
well i guess you guys can run the offense and defence though you and your other 3 8th graders i guess. 2-3 defense and just run your team offense.
you really shouldnt LEAD the team since you DO have 3 other good players to help you out. but i m sure the coach will pressure all your 4 to do your best and stuff
But anit this is what teammates are for?
well just do your part then i think its ok.
box out for rebounds, post up, soild D, block shots?!? prob..but i think this is mostly for centers, but PFs could be a part too...well thats pretty much it....

You did not even tell us how you did within each drill. Before the tryout, you claim that "I've been practicing really hard and I was in shape". That tell us nothing if you made shots, rebounded, or defended well DURING the tryout. You did not tell us how you did, just a story on the other players. Do not blame others; that is a poor habit to have.

Yea,it's gonna be tough.I hate when everyone else sucks and you have to lead the team singlehandedly.

Middle school ball... don't worry about it- you don't have to take it that serious. It's not about winning and lossing at the level... it's all about getting better.
