I trust the military all the way. That's a no brainer. If this country were to be attacked, all the members of our government would go into hiding, leaving the military and civilians to defend the country. So I think I'll keep my alliance with the military.

It is that simple is it? Congress gets briefed on what is going on. The military knows the details of what is going on on the ground. When a general reports is he reporting the truth or is he reporting what his commander wants him to report? Soldiers follow orders including generals. Nuf said.

You mean elected politicians who give orders, or the people who follow those orders unquestioningly?
Neither, and that's no disrespect to the troops- it's their job to follow orders unquestioningly, and we'd be hosed if they didn't, but that doesn't make them a trustworthy source of information.
