I had stayed home sick that day from work (was in my 30's) so I was sleeping when my husband called and told me a plane had hit the tower. He asked me to turn on the news because they (the people at work) were only getting bits of info from the radio. I turned on the news just as the second plane hit. I was shocked, stunned, sickened, and horrorfied all at the same time. Horror and dread just became worse with each incident and I was shaking. I just wanted my family home and safe.
Oddly enough, both of my sisters and my mom had stayed home sick that day too even though we couldn't really say why we were sick - just a general feeling of not being well. We all gathered at my mom's early (we were supposed to go anyway after work as it is my sister's birthday). We cried a lot.

I was 11 or 12, in science doing a lab. We were watching it on tv because my teacher had a friend who works at the pentagon. I don't think I really understood what was going on, so I likely wasn't as concerned as I should have been.

i was 30 something and I was at work. I didn't know till my husband called and told me. He was in a panic even though we were no where near the attack. He thought it was the apocolypse. I had to keep it together cause he was so bonkers.
