How you are going to get it in there, and where you are going to find a transverse transmission to fit, I really don't know. My advice, fuggedaboutit!

You could put a front wheel drive Cadillac v8 in it. You would need a complete donor car to do it.
Sell it and buy a car with a v8 in it.

im sure its possible to squeeze a small block under that hood..the only question is are you sure you want to invest that much time/money on such an old car. It would be a shame to do all that then blow all your brake lines or have to replace your front suspension do to all that added weight. Im more the all wheel drive turbo guy myself and personally wouldn't do it but hey..its your car

If it's front wheel drive,and i'm asumming it is it's possible but you're gonna need alot of$$$$$$.And it's gonna be tough,you're better of to turn your 4 or 6 cylinder into something,or get a cheap rear wheel drive with a v-8 http://summitracing.com get a free catolog while your there to.
