I am a trucker. I was taking a load of empty pop cans, to the Pepsi plant, in Columbus, Ohio. At the time, I was listening to the Bob and Tom show, on the FM. Christie Lee, their newsgal, broke in and said a jet had hit one of the towers. I was stunned, but kept on driving, wondering how this could have happened thinking something must have gone wrong, with air traffic control. Then, an hour or so later, the second plane hit! I knew then, that it wasn't an accident. I knew, the United States, was under attack. By the time I had gotten to the plant, the Pentagon had been hit. I called my dispatcher and told him, to hurry up and get me a load back home. I wanted to be at the house, if anything else was gonna happen. I will never forget that day.

I had just started a training seminar that my job sent me to. Each person in class had computer in front of them with the internet. Someone was checking out the latest news and said that a plane had hit a building in NY. We all thought they meant a small plane. Within a few minutes were down the hallway in the conference room watching it on live TV. I remember when the towers fell. I was betting the WWIII had just started.
I went to the Air Force recruiter the next day and told him that I was ready to go back in the Air Force if they needed me.

I was in my college apartment sleeping through my morning class when my best friend and roomate woke me and told me that a plane ran into a building, my first thoughts were " stupid pilot" I thought it was an accident then the other plane hit and it was clear it wasnt, an hour later I was in my geography course listening to some jerk talk about how we had it comming, everyone was still in shock so no one countered him , he was some rich kid that grew up traveling the world so he thought he knew what was what.
If I had had any sense I should have said something to him.

I was working and listening to music on the phone radio system when they interrupted about the first plane hitting the towers. I remember everyone in my office just looking at each other as if waiting for someone to say something first. No words needed to be said at a moment like that. Our workday was cut short shortly after as the fear of what was happening and what could happen set in and everyone wanted to be with their families and feel safe.
I'll never forget that day or the multitude of emotions I felt.

Sept. 11, 1976 I was giving birth to my 2nd child.
Sept. 11, 2001 I was getting ready for work when I heard the news of the plane going into the first tower. I got my sons up so they could watch it before they went to school. When I got to work, they had it on in the "Big room" of the child care center. I got there in time to see the second tower go down. It will be a day none of us will ever forget.

i was in my fifth grade class, old school, and i got called down to the nurses office, my dad took me out of school even though he didnt know why it happened. i lived in nassau country, thats the county right before queens on long island and i could actually see the smoke from there. it was a billow.
then we went home and watched live footage of it on tv. we saw the second plane go into the second tower on tv. then we saw the first tower collapse, then the second. it was unbelievable. i couldnt fathom that they were gone.
it all felt surreal.

In math class, in 5th grade, I guess. Because after math I went to the bathroom, and when I returned, everyone was dead silent. I knew something was up because a 5th grade classroom is never dead silent...not even close. Apparently my teacher had shared the news with my classmates while I was using the bathroom. It made for an awkward situation.
