The city of Ur in Babylonia was the place that the World Flood epics were written about Atrahasis and Gilgamesh (c. 2600 -3000 B.C.E.) If, as some say, Abraham was born in Ur, it is probably where he got the Flood story that later is entered into the Old Testament.

Note that every culture in the world has their own flood myth. It didn't start or end with the bible.

The biggest disparity in all of these myths is that they leave out the details of just how cutting edge the "ark" was. It was really a cleverly camoflaged modified UFO that could morph as needed. You really don't think a "boat" could survive a global flood. right.

One could say they are the same thing. Folklore written down, and later put with other stories...
