Basic, 3-act screenplay structure can be found all over the internet. Just do some searches and you'll find the basic format.

If you want to write a great movie script, I can help. I've written a book that discusses how to captivate an audience from the beginning to the end of a story. There is definitely a science to it, and if properly applied you can easily hold an audiences attention all the way through your film.

Ever notice how you feel exhausted after some movies because they were so packed with information and action? Feels good right?

If you want to watch a great film that almost overwhelms you with information and keeps you focused on the story, I recommend you watch Monsters, Inc. Yeah, it's an animated story, but pay attention to the first five minutes. Watch how they blur by while you are absolutely captivated by what's happening on the screen. To write a great screenplay, you need to repeat that for 90 minutes straight (albeit at a slower pace!).

Start studying movies, that's your best classroom. Study them over and over and over again. And you should read my book as it will speed up your learning process.

Screenwriting is a lot of fun, especially when you see actors performing what you've imagined! It's no fairy tale though. To be successful takes time, energy, and work.

If you really want it, you'll get there. Good luck.

This is pretty cool. I found out about this recently. This is a UCLA professor who is offering his screen writing course online free for you to do on your own. Give it a shot.
