It means that you need to stand up for what you believe in and that someone is going to try and talk you out of it because they really don't what what is best for you...

That means just say no, and keep saying no, until the person gets it through thier head that no means no. I am also thinking that you are younger. The advice in this is that most people have interest other than yours when they ask for something. Make sure that if you give something away (even time) that it is for something that you also want, and not just to benifit someone else. Also, usually the person who tries to talk you into anything really hard, usually does not mean you well...ie car salesman will try to sell you the most expensive car they can get you talked into, even though your budget may not allow for that car. What do they care, they got their commission. Same thing for most Realtors, Bankers, Insurance Salespersons. Just be careful.

Someone may be trying to manipulate you into do something that is beneficial to them and they don't care about your feelings.
