I was just reading a question submitted by an Asian person, and one of the repliers said a very derogatory statement. What is your opinion about Asians? I consider them people, and I think that they should be treated well, like every other human being.
And to Asians: Have you ever experienced racism (because of your race. Sorry, I wouldn't know, I am white)?

I'm Asian...
Yes, I've been stereotyped. People automatically assume I'm a genius because I'm Asian, and they expect me to know everything. People sometimes also assume I can't speak English. (I get good grades in school, but I'm not a genius, and I'm fluent in English).

By Asians, do you mean chinese or Indian/Pakistanis?
Anyways, I can fall under the category of East-Indian/Asian and yes, I've experienced racism in my time before. But not much. Back in 1st grade, a Caucasian girl refused to play with me because "she's brown" were her exact words. My mom and her mom spoke, and we became friends afterward.
I think all humans need to respected, whether they are white, black or purple. We are all people. =)

They are just people to me. There aren't many Asian families where I live so I don't know any personally. However some of the Asian guys I see at the mall are ******* hot.

be sure to flag answers like that. Y/A thrives on an honest, academic level. there is no dumb question, and there are only honest answers.
that being said, there are dishonest questions, where something is posted just to make others angry. and ingenuine answers, where an answer attacks the person posting the question. whenever you see these things, take the time to flag and report as inappropriate.

Asians? Aren't they people like us? Maybe their skin is a little different color, or their hair, or eyes...and the ladies seem to be inordinately lucky in their looks... but looks don't define who we are. I totally agree with you - people are people are people. Should all be treated the same.

In high school, they were almost as good as me at math, but not quite. LOL. My best friends in high school were Asians.
