Victoria coach station has undergone extensive improvements in the last few years. There are many cafes all undercover in the coach station. The arrival point in Victoria is across the road from the departures, but easy to find and well signposted. Less than one minutes walk between the two.

In the departures area check the boards of departing destinations for the correct bay. Coaches are allowed into the coach station 30 minutes before departure but may not commence boarding till 10 minutes before departure. Both of your journeys are about 90 minutes.

When you arrive from winchester it will be in the arrival shed accross the road 2 minute walk to the main departure terminal
The signs and departure displays are easily readable and the colchester coaches are at the front of the station next to the rather expensive and not very good cafe

There is a small buffet at the coach station and if you have a large waiting time, then pop across the road to Victoria Village above the train station and there are plenty of eating places.
The Coach station is quite compact and the stops are close together so you will not have far to walk between stops.
It is a very very busy bus station, so be warned it can be hectic there.

1) There are many cafes in there.
2) VCS is not a huge place and there is not much to walk. Assume you are travelling by coach only. If you happen to take the tube there is a considerable distance to walk from VCS to the the closest tube station which is Victoria.

Coach station is all inside, and my 86 year old grandmother can walk around it fine so shouldn't be a problem for your partner. Don't know about cafe though, I always take her to the one across the road in the church so that probably won't work.

Victoria has a so called Cafe but I would never use it. Anyway, I didn't know that National Express were still operating? I was told that they have abandoned all their coaches on the motorways and gone to the pub LOL
Good Luck with your journey, you must be brave!
