Dude, I read your question and I've gotta say I loovve nose rings. But make sure you're suppper careful. cause when my sister gave herself a piercing, she got a staff infection. This is super painful and can kill you. Pleasssee get it done professionally, or at least make sure to use only sterile tools.

Ok this is in no way meant to help you disobey your parents. If they are against you having a pierced nostril then you shouldn’t do it. But if they are ok with you doing it your self this is what you’ll need to do.
If you have an ebay account go to ebay and buy a 16 gauge needle and a 16 gauge nose screw. If you don’t have an ebay account you can probably find a needle and a nose screw at the mall. Try to find both in a 16 gauge. Nose piercing are usually done in either a 16 gauge or a 14 gauge. 14 gauge is bigger and so it hurts more to pierce it with that sized needle. If you’re worried about pain you want a 16 gauge. DO NOT PUT A RING IT IT! If you put a ring in it it will take forever to heal and might give you some nasty scabbing. Ya don't want that. Also avoid what is called a "nose bone". It's a stud for your nose that has balls on both ends. Neither of the balls come off so you have to force it into the hole. They are awful in genral, but you probably wont even be able to get it into a fresh piercing.
Anyway, once you’re ready to pierce, clean the nose screw with rubbing alcohol and then put it in a pot of water and boil it for about an hour (the needle should be in a sterile package so it won’t need to be cleaned or boiled).
Put on a pair of rubber gloves and wash your hands with the gloves on so that they are clean.
Take a sharpie and make a dot where you want the hole to be.
Put something in your nose for the needle to go into once it’s through your nostril. It is pretty hard to get the needle through if there’s nothing behind it. You can use a paper towel or a small piece of cardboard.
Put your finger in your nose near where the needle will come out (but not where the needle will come out because you don’t want to prick your finger).
Line the needle up and push.
The needle is hallow, so once it is through you put the nose screw in the needle. It won’t fit because they are the same size, but since the nose screw is rounded off on the end it will go in a little bit. Push on the nose screw as you pull the needle out. Make sure they are touching the whole way through your nostril. Once the needle is out the nose screw should be in your nostril and you’re done! If you lose the connection with the nose screw and the needle halfway into your nostril it’s ok, you just have to force the nose screw in. It will hurt but you can do it.
Now to clean it you will want to use a sea salt soak. Mix ¼ teaspoon of sea salt in 8oz’s of WARM water. Dip a paper towel in it and hold the paper towel on your nose for 8 to 10 minutes.
Good luck!
P.S. There’s going to be a lot of people on here who are going to tell you not to do it. Usually they have no idea what they are talking about. A good example
chitown kid “dont do it yourself cuz there are veins and artiries and it might also get infected.”
There aren’t any veins or arteries in the nostril… Well nothing major at least. It won’t even bleed. And if it does get infected the sea salt soak should take care of it.
I have many piercings I did my self, including 2 nostril piercings and they are all fine.
Anyway, as I said, good luck!

Sure you can. There is actually a kit that you can buy at Spencer Gifts (also online) that has the piercing gun in it. The kit is less than $20 and has the sterilized/pre-loaded gun in it. All you have to do is follow the directions. Hope this helps.

It's easy....get you a # 2 center punch, a ball peen hammer and lay the side of your nose against the garage wall then place the center punch in the exact place you want the hole and whack it with the ball peen. It may bleed some but don't worry.....you will be "hip."

I tried piercing my nose myself and it's really hard to do and it was very painful. I ended up going to a professional, and that was painful too. It also takes a very long time for it to heal (approx. 1 yr.). So, you should wait, and get it professionally done.
