to venture from Earth, you'd need to bring supplies enough to get you to where you're going, and to return (presumably you'll want to come home.) A trip to the moon, for example, meant that you needed about 8 to 12 days worth of oxygen, food, and power. A trip to Mars, on the other hand, will likely take many months or even years in space, and on Mars, so you'd need to stock up accordingly. A trip to Pluto would take on the order of about 17 to 20 years, depending on trajectory & proximity of the planet - and how much fuel you'd take with you.

We are already in our own solar system. To leave our solar system, we would need many things. More space stations, spacecraft capable of prolonged interplanetary flight, and, of course, much more government funding for such a grandiose project.
