I was going to download limewire just to see if I can get one program from it. I have looked everywhere and cannot find the program anywhere. Nevertheless, the last time I downloaded limewire I got so many viruses that I eventually had to reinstall windows. In that case it never occured to me to do a system restore because I was not even aware that I had any viruses until I did a virus scan after strange things started happening almost a month later. So if I were to download limewire now to get the one program for it, would doing a system restore to get rid of limewire immediately afterwards get rid of any viruses too?

No. A system restore will only restore System Files, no user files.

Not good dude. NO by doing a system install will not clean your computer of viruses. All a system install does is it resets your computers system to default!

In my treks, I have found that limewire is very fast but does contain a fair few viruses

You need to have a good virus scanner. Try AVG, it can be downloaded for free. It is a free virus scanner. This will help

Yes and no.

Limewire is FILLED with viruses. The best way to avoid them all is a good firewall and anti-virus system. System Restore will work once or twice, but if the virus messes up your registry, your screwed.

For the firewall, download ZoneAlarm Pro, for the anti-virus, download Norton (I actually recommend buying Norton Anti-Virus 2007).
