Why is it summer in australia when it is winter here and vice-versa?

It is due to the tilt of axis of rotation of the earth as the earth orbits the sun which is our sole source of energy for all practical purposes.

When the north pole is tilted more towards the sun, the Northern hemisphere receives more direct sunshine (energy) and has more hours of sunshine during the day than the southern hemisphere where Australia is. When the South Pole is more pointed towards the sun, Australia receives more direct sunshine and has longer days while we have less hours of sunlight and less energy from the sun. So our seasons are reversed from Australia.

America gets hit by summer when its getting all the sun from position of equator of the sun. This happens for Australia in the winter for us. Has nothing to do with pole rotation lol. The earth spins like a top so thats why some summers are more hot than others and vice versa for winter. The sun lets out certain amounts of Gamma radiation and spikes with sun flares which gives life to our planet. Some places like Saturns titan moon have tempetures over 100 degrees because of the elemental make up of it so it just goes to show its not a matter of how close you are vs heat but what types of light (gamma radiation) that a planet gets. Oh and the Ozone layer being deminished is a joke! We have know found that by solar winds it causes a disturbance in this Ozone which is called coronal hole. The seasons are caused due to two reasons.One is the tilt of the axis and the other is the revolution of the earth around the sun.In the earth's elliptical orbit around the sun, the nearest point to the sun is called perigee and the farthest point is called apogee.In the perigee position, the sun will be shining over the tropic of capricon which passes over Australia.Due to the tilt of the axis, southern hemisphere will only be now exposed to the sun .So this is summer time for Southern hemisphere and hence to Australia.
At this time,due to the same reason(tilt of the axis), Northern hemisphere will be pointing away from the sun and most of the places will be getting less radiations only and this will be winter for northern hemisphere.At the apogee position,the sun will be shining over the tropic of cancer and the conditions will be reversed.
