my son just had minor surgery today and I was wondering if there was anything I could use once his incisions heal, to minimize scaring? anything that actually works?

Mederma for kids works good, but its a little more expensive than other stuff. Around $6-8 for a small tube. But if you use it twice a day, it'll last for a while. And it smells like grapes :]

Hmm...
Try coco-butter. Or anything with a coconut type of ingredient. And what might work even better is aloe vera-try and get it in the most naturalist form possible. If your buying it as a gel or lotion type of thing make sure its the first, or close to first ingredient in the product. Best of all would be to get the plant its self, nothing works better than the natural stuff!

I heard recently from a family friend that if you go to the drug store and buy vitamin e jell cap and break them open you can use the jelly that comes out to help make the scar heal faster and become less noticable.

Go to the Drug store there are a couple of things that can help Scars heal better ask the Pharmacist and they will help you decide which may be best for you.

Aloe vera, taking him out to the ball games, getting a good sunburn on it, and letting it heal the old fashioned way.

I've had scarrs since I was born, no one notices them, they add to the character of who I am, and who your son is!!!!

Vitamin E capsules. Break them open, rub the vitamin E on the scar...daily.

Well at first not much, but after a month or so if you go to CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, they sell this lotaoin you rub on it that works.

I've heard that Mederma is good. You can buy it at any pharmacy without a prescription.

cocoa butter, or bio-oil these are both fantasic and specialise in stretch marks and scars. although they are both pricey, even moisturer will work. xx
