Lets not be ignorant and use the "N" word or say ignorant things like the black kid should be hanged.

I'm not sure if I'm willing to say whether or not the specific charges are unfair. (I'm still in the process of learning more about the incidents.) But I do think the kids deserve to face legal consequences. No one has a right to physically assault another human being. Although we do have the right to defend ourselves to the extent which is necessary.

What's unfair, in my opinion, is the fact that the white kids who were involved in physical assaults are either facing much lesser charges or no charges at all. (I realize that there are different degrees of assault. But, to my knowledge, there were some rather violent actions perpetrated by both "sides".)

yea i totally think it was unfair. if these boys get locked away for the supposed 22 years then what will happen to the white kids? nothing. and thats whats unfair. yes i agree that what they did was wrong because 2 wrongs don't make a right but i also feel that they had had too much and was tired of being peaceful so they acted on their emotions. now because of that they are going to be locked up????? no. its not fair. and i shudder to think of the world that i have brought my children into. i try to imagine how i would feel if this had happened to one of MY children. my mind still can't wrap around the situation. but i tell u one thing! if i could go on september 20th 2007 to the rally (which will be the day of Bell's sentencing) then i would. but i WILL be wearing all black to show my support! this is such a tragedy and it has got to stop! somehow. someway. someday. when are we going to live King's dream???

Its freedom of speech, i don't agree with the nooses but it was not a threat to a specific person so the noose is irrelevant. If they said I'm going to hang you, now that is a threat. When actual fighting took place that is where the problems come in. This is no different from a bunch of crips or bloods telling a little white boy in the wrong neighborhood to get lost white boy. Each side has the right to there own opinion but assaults should be tooken to court and both sides punished depending on what really happened.

Of course the chargers weren't fair, but then again, when have they ever been fair? It's unfortunate that such blatant racism still thrives in this country, but it's an unfortunate truth that more people need to realize. Only then will it change. This is not a color-blind nation.

it fairly is an ongoing travesty. that's 2007 with a 1957 style. i prefer to comprehend the place is the NAACP in all of this. Racism nonetheless exists interior the country. we could positioned it in words White u . s . of america comprehend: BULLYING it fairly is solid previous shaped 1957 form bullying of the African- American pupils. as quickly as the African-individuals desperate to no longer tolerate the bullying and arise for themselves, they're charged with tried homicide. In cutting-area suburbia right this moment(2007) communities are coming jointly alongside with colleges and different companies to place an end to this custom, (BULLYING), yet they do no longer seem to be charging the bullies with tried homicide. basic attack or battery could have sufficed. The "White" tree ought to have been bumped off immediately following the putting of the nooses. the scholars who hung the nooses ought to have been expelled from the faculty. the scholars doing the taunting and utilizing the "N" be conscious ought to have gained in-college suspension and required to take a style on variety. District criminal expert Reed Walters ought to unfastened his place for his remark. I do have confidence he took an oath formerly taking place of work and that i'm specific it did no longer condone "bullying" pupils. because of the fact college officers and Mr. Walters did no longer or refused to deal with the area wisely, we've the Jena 6. The youthful adult adult males must be punished. no one has the perfect to place a hand on yet another in violence. attack & battery with probation is all this occasion demands. Jena, this could properly be a warning call to you. you are able to no longer fake you symbolize cutting-area-day u . s . of america on an identical time as all alongside protecting a 1957standard. Separate yet equivalent is a lifeless horse. awaken! THE insanity STOPS here!

Yes it sounds as if the charges were fair - 6 people attacking one person is attempted murder - no way around that in my book.

NOTE: I ignored any reference to race while reading the story.
