I look people straight in the eyes but for the most part they look else where. There are very few people who are truly comfortable looking people in the eyes. I'm not sure if it's because they don't' want to know what the other person is thinking or if they are afraid of the person knowing what they are thinking. You can tell a lot by looking someone in the eyes. I'm not sure that most people are comfortable with others knowing them so intimately.

Eye-to-eye contact is sometimes intimidating, and shifty eyes show insincerity or an attempt to hide something. Best is a happy medium, where you look into their eyes, but turn your gaze to the nose or mouth occasionally, so it doesn't look as though you're trying to hypnotize the person. (Through the legs --Squidgey boils? What? Are you kidding?)

Socially appropriate face-to-face conversation?

After a general up and down look-over, the speakers' eyes should alternate between direct eye contact, eye-to-lip contact when they're trying to make a point, and other "random" eye movements over the face to mix things up.

Unwavering direct stares are creepy.

Some would even say looking down means you're lying....or just perverted.

Eyes.

Sometimes, a method I use to help neutralize a person seeking to persuade me is to change focus from their eyes to under their chin. This allows me to think better (similar to pondering a point while looking at the sky) and avoids being held by their 'stare' (a common thing people attempt). They wouldn't notice.

I'm tempted to say "at their boobs" but I'm going to restrain myself and be serious for a moment: I usually look people in the eyes when talking to them. It lets them know I'm paying attention.

Right into their eyes. If I dont feel comfortable looking someone in the eye, or they wont give me the same courtisy, I dont bother with them.

With ladies: Right between the eyes. Messes up their concentration something fierce. Then, when they're all confused, I sneak a peek at their boobies. Doesn't everybody?

With gents: H)

When I talk through a storm,
I hold my head up high,
And look straight into those
Squinty little moley eyes.
Ise not afraid
That you won't like my teeth
I trust in my goodness
That lies underneath
And you'll trust it too
Here's looking at you!
