Of course not. People don't really ask that question because they care. If you told the truth it would be very awkward. "My day has never been worse my dad died and I was in a car accident" honestly who tells the truth when asked that? It's like we are programmed to say things like fine, or good, one word answers, nothing more nothing less.

About 95% of the time, when I say "Fine", I'm not telling the truth.

Most of the time but nobody is fine all the time. If I'm not fine, I'll tell a close friend or family member but not some random person.

Usually fine is just the word to sum me up lol,unless for example they ask when I have a cold then I'll say fine...but I have a sore throat.

Nah, I'm never fine, but I don't like talking about my day. It's a personal matter. I prefer to say 'fine' and go on about whatever it is I'm doing, i.e. work or college.

not always. but i hate to be a whiner and say things like "I'm terrible, I had a stomache and last night i ruined a shirt I like in the laundry"....
besides, when people ask you how you're doing...they don't really care....they're just making polite conversation...so I politely say "I'm fine"
