The two parties differ in what they believe the role of government is. Democrats generally want the government to use tax dollars to provide many services to the public and that the public is better off because it is supported by its governemnt. Republicans generally believe that many of these tax dollars are misspent and that the money would be better used in the hands of the American people rather than in the hands of the government.

there is no difference between them

"War, and the threat of war, are big government's best friend," he wrote only recently. "Liberals support big government social programs, and conservatives support big government war policies, thus satisfying two major special interest groups. And when push comes to shove, the two groups cooperate and support big government across the board — always at the expense of personal liberty. Both sides pay lip service to freedom, but neither stands against the welfare-warfare state and its promises of unlimited entitlements and endless war."

No voice for peace has been as consistent in the demand that government stop its intervention across the board. No supporter of free markets has been so determined to apply the logic of liberty to all aspects of foreign policy.

OK-here is the real answer. Dems believe in a strong Federal government-Rep want the States to have strength. Dems are generally much more Liberal on all issues, like to have more taxes so they can distribute the money and get mroe votes. Rep believe that capitalism is the way to a good economy with lower taxes, etc

Using words like "b-tween," Thinkin'" and "Bout" is stupid. Do us all a favor and don't vote. We don't need more uninformed people voting.

Democrats favor democracy and the will of the people over capitalism and the stability of the Republic.

Republicans favor the stability of the Republic and capitalism over the will of the people.

If you are poor and have little access to power, your vote is all you have and the Democratic Party is probably your best voice. If you are wealthy and benefiting well from our society (if you have capital), the Republican Party is probably your best voice.

Democrats believe in BIG Government and high taxes to pay for Government controlled and dictated programs that can become tyrannical and restrict your choices. They take your money and make it THEIRS because they believe they are smarter than you.
Republicans believe in SMALL Government and low taxes. You pay for the services you want. You get choice but YOU have to pay for everything and be responsible for your OWN health, education, and welfare. You are on your own. Little help from the Government, but less likely to be tyrannical.
