I'm visiting Seattle soon, hoping to rent a car (age 20) for ease of transportation. Does anyone have any information pertaining to companies which will rent a car to a minor? It seems like many of the larger corporate rent a cars have an age restriction of 21 and above.

Any information is appreciated.

Nobody rents cars to minors, and most companies will not rent to anyone under 25.

Are you visiting the city of Seattle proper? If so, you're best off without a car anyway.

No national chain (Hertz, Dollar, Enterprise, etc), will rent to anyone less than 21 years of age.

Look at the online yellow pages to see if there are any "rent a wreck" dealers, which are older model cars to rent, and they may rent to some one at least 18. The price will be a little bit higher and you'll have a car 4 or 5 years old, but at least you will have some wheels for your trip.

There are no rental car drop-offs near Pier 91. The closest drop-offs are all in downtown, about a 10 to 15 minute drive to the pier. You will either need to arrange a pick-up at the pier (which could be difficult on Saturday) or drop off the car in downtown and take a taxi/shuttle/bus to the pier. I doubt it. Someone that I work with got her car hit by another car and since she was only 19 she could not rent a car so she was stuck using public transportation until she was able to get a new car.

Good luck! I had a hard time with more bigger well know companies myself...

Try something close to the Airport there are so many differant ones, they may not be as strict as some of the more "popular" ones....

A contract to a minor is automatically void - no one will rent one to you.
