Was her performance a joke? I mean she didn't even try to lip-sync. She just didn't move her lips at times. Her fat body was disgusting to look at (*shivers*) and she moved like an old woman. I pity this crazy has-been.
The entire show seem disorganized. Tommy Lee and Kid Rock had a fight over something *cough* Pamela Slut Anderson *cough*.
Also, big surprise, Kanye West is ticked that he didn't win any awards vowing to never attend again. Let let the door hit yeah on the way out you conceded loser.

Britney needs therapy . I don't think she realize all publicity is not good publicity . She needs to change her entire camp manager ... hairstylist... costume coordinator start from starch or but her money in stock and just be a mommy!

Oh, everyone, give the girl a break. I mean, I'm not exactly a fan but give her credit for trying and having the courage to go out there and perform!
Fat body you say and moving like an old woman? Well, how many of you have had a full spectacular career by the age of 20 - 22 and then popped out 2 kids in 1.5 years? (Well... not me, certainly....!).
She'll be fine, in the long run. And that's what's important here = the long run. One performance doesn't make or break a career! If she wants to she can just disappear for a few years and then come back with a vengeance. Or she can come back next week and be successful again.
So give the girl a break. She's trying and soldiering on with courage. She'll be fine. (and I just hope she doesn't read any of these know-it-all comments here and doesn't even bother watching TV for now!).

Has been sounds right. Even Sara Silverman took a cheap shot at her in front of millions of people. How humiliating. I'm not a Britney Spears fan by all means, but that comment was just low, rude and sad.
I was shocked when I heard she was the opening act. I'm sure that the VMA's could use some publicity so Britney was a sure bet. Negative publicity is publicity! Every single tabloid, magazine, news show is now plastered with her flabby abdomen and cruel criticism of her too tight, two sizes too small outfit, embarrassing flabby physique and her clumsy and boring performance that has made everyone talk.... about the VMA's of course!
VMA's producers... you cruel geniuses. She has no career, no talent and no bod, but she's a publicity magnet and a media dear, just what your dying show needed, FREE PUBLICITY.

I thought the VMA's were pretty good, besides Britney Spears ruining the entire beginning! That was the worst performance ever, she could have at least put a little effort into it, she ruined forever. I really liked the VMA's besides Britney and Sarah Silverman's lame jokes. She wasn't funny this time. The fight between Tommy & Kid Rock was crazy, seems like Kid Rock beat the crap out of Tommy. Kanye West is so conceited, he always gets mad. Nothing new!

VMA's probably would've been better off if Amy Winehouse was the opening act. Yeah, she's a crackhead, but at least she sings and doesn't try to overdo a performance.
Kanye West is just embarrassing himself. Why does he even care if he wins at the VMA's? He still makes good music, and I'm sure his fans will still buy his CD. VMA awards don't make or break a career...... at least not anymore.

Britney Spears was awful. I mean how did they choose her to open the show, they should have plonked her in the middle somewhere. I cant belive what she done the dancing was really crap, shes 25 and walking around like a whore shes got two kids she needs to grow up.

Britney wasnt even trying in the vmas she was just bored, i guess. Alicia keys performance was boring, the second i heard freedom. i quit the show.
the vmas was so stupid this year and it didn't have that vive.
whatever happened to miami vmas.

She isn't fat. But her performance was sad, she seemed so tired. I feel bad for her.
I hate how they did the VMAs; the tables, the hotel suites. It wasn't serious enough, the performers were getting drunk (did you seem Jamie Foxx?!)! I was throughly disappointed.

It did all seem a little bit disorganized didn't it? The only person to actually catch my eye was that Chris Brown. He has got some moves on him, even Justin had to give him props!!
