I know I'll get some Batman or Spiderman answers, but I think V for Vendetta is the best, because V is IMO the ultimate viligante. He's just, cool.

"Mean Guns" - Ice-T as a gang boss who finds that 100 of his members have stolen money from him. He puts them all in a prison, gives them guns and weapons, and says, "The last three of you surviving will split ten million dollars." Mindless killing set to mambo music - classic B movie. If that wasn't a guy who took the law into his own hands, I don't know what is!
