Are they the same size? Larger fish often tend to bully smaller ones.

If the red one is chasing and rubbing against the calico, look on the gills of the red one to see if you notice white dots that look like pimples - these may be on the fronts of the side fins as well. This type of behavior can be a mating display, and the fish with the "pimples" (breeding tubercles) is the male. It doesn't guarantee that the other is a female, but if you look at the shape of the vents (anus), there's a diference in how these appear on breeding males and females - see the photos in this link: http://www.bristol-aquarists.org.uk/goldfish/info/sexing-fs.htm
