I can see many things a way out there
And I see a bug that's going somewhere
Over here is a book, just laying flat
And in my chair's my old fishing hat.
There's lots to see, if you take the time
So I placed my answer into a little rhyme.

That is completely dependent upon the wavelength you are measuring (seeing). If its low frequencies (radio waves to infrared light) then you can see objects with bright radio cores and hot bodies, if its medium frequencies (visible light) then only about 10% of what is really out there. And if its high frequencies (Ultraviolet to gammawaves) then everything else that isn't obscured by dust and gases.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

300 Spartans dying to save the lives of others - for the higher good to preserve their way of life for their families and their children - for the survival of the next generation - to enjoy a safer future - and that history will remember their story and that is recorded in the stars above you - the First Light in the stars always remembers.

Is this like the six minute silence. A conductor, an orchestra & no sound for four mintues (even though they refer to it as a six minute piece) that makes us think about what we miss, even though its right there in front of us? Or did I type this for nothing?

i see a hill, not a very big hill.
it's got trees on the top, with a horse running down it.
a farmer ploughing the fields in the distance.
a couple walking hand in hand.
makes you want to puke doesn't it?
