At first my HCG Levels were going up but slowly; however within a couple of days it jumped from 498 to 1808. I should be at about 4-5 weeks pregnant. At first docs thought that this was an ectopic pregnancy but they have ruled that out. I've had about 4 sonos in the past 2 weeks and nothing is in my uterus. I am seeing 2 OBGYN Docs, one says that I best just take an injection to dissolve whatever is within me and then my body will juat absorb it. The other says there is nothing to do but just wait and have blood test for about two to three more weeks. I'm scared I've been bleeding for the past week but have no pain. Doc said if I was to bleed and have pain, I'm actually going thru a miscarriage but there is no pain. I had actually been bledding before but it stopped. Is this normal? What shoul I do? I really want to go thru w/ this pregnancy since this is my first after 3 years of marriage.

Well I'd do what the 2nd doctor says, and just wait. 5 weeks ago, when I was 6 weeks pregnant, the doctor could not find the baby by ultrasound and said it was probably an ectopic pregnancy. She mentioned the med that dissolves the fertilized egg as well. Good thing I didn't listen to her, because when i had someone else do the ultasound, the baby and the beating heart were visible in my uterus. Now the bleeding you are having isn't a good sign, but about half of women who have actual bleeding (like I did with my first pregnancy) go on to have a healthy baby. At 4-5 weeks a sac isn't always visible, so I'd ask for another scan next week. Good luck.

I'd just wait for the moment, as hard as that is. A sonogram (even transvaginal) wouldn't see anything besides a sac before 5 1/2 - 6 weeks. If there is no sac, then why would you need a shot to dissolve anything? I wouldn't jump the gun, just wait for your blood test results and to see if your body actually miscarries or not. It could be a chemical pregnancy, it could just be way too early to know anything for sure yet. No matter what happens, I wish you luck and hope everything turns out ok.

Edit: In regards to the bleeding, I bled moderately at 6 and 8 weeks, as well as a little at 10 weeks. I am now 14 weeks and haven't had any bleeding for awhile now. The bleeding doesn't have to mean a miscarriage, that's why I suggest you wait. Best of luck!

I would continue to have your hCG levels tested. I have had 2 miscarriages (9 weeks and 10 weeks). The 1st time I had bleeding but no pain till about 4 days later. If your hCG levels are rising at a good rate then the baby should be fine. Good luck.

HcG is produced by the embrio and part of the placenta inmediately after conception to prevent disintegration of a part of the ovary called corpus luteum and therefore keep the body producing progesterone which is vital for pregnancy.
If you have been detected hcg activity it means that it is for sure you have something inside you.
According to the american pregnancy association, a level of 1800 corresponds to a 6 weeks pregancy http://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html
however I dont know what to tell you. I wouldnt deffinitely take any injection until being absolutely sure that it is something that needs the injection.

I have no intention to scare you but when reading info on hcg from wiki, i found some information saying that some times some kinds of tumors produce hcg. I am not saying this is your case, but may be you want to read further information on the net. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_chorionic_gonadotropin

Of course, your doctors have the last word
The best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!

If there is nothing in your uterus, then you are not pregnant. You could have gone through a false pregnancy. It happens to a lot of people who had a misscarriage and not even know it. My sister miscarried at about 9 weeks, but she knew she was pregnant. She had to get her horemone levels tested for 6 weeks, and she was still escalating in numbers. She even developed a breast larger than the other! All because her body told her that she was still pregnant.

The site below gives some information on false pregnancy.

Best of luck to you and keep me posted!!

I am sorry to read all about you...My best wishes are always with you...
I hope I am wrong but I think you are having a miscarriage.I did have a painless m/s a year back.

But athe same time it is also possible that at 4-5 weeks embryo might be very small to detect...which is why dr advised you to wait.. I wish you could see your little one soon.

Good Luck n Take care

I had my periods for three months tho I knew I was pregnant. I didn't miscarry. I had a healthy normal baby. Wait it out and see what happens.
