Ball pythons get about 4-6 ft. depending upon the sex. Females being larger than males. Snakes do not grow to the environment. You can not control the size of the snake by placing it in a smaller enclosure. A snake will grow out of it's tank as long as it is fed. Snakes of all species continue to grow for their lifetime, however most of the their growth is accomplished in the first 2-3 years. After that, they might grow a mm a year or so. Pythons and boas both have slow metabolisms so feeding less frequently is better for them. No more than once a week and once they reach adult age, no more than every 2-3 weeks.

If its a kitten, yup that snake could kill it. Ive considered some heavy accountability 5 foot balls pythons, and that they might without question kill a kitten. uncertain what form of bread of kitten might weigh 4lbs. Thats a large kitten. 10lbs cat is a enormous cat. yet i could be scared for the protection of my finished grown cat around an entire grown ball.. And vise versa. If the ball doesnt get the hind legs tied up he could go through awefully. Snakes do kill animals they won't be able to consume. They dont use measuring tapes. Your kittens and cats are no longer secure with an entire grown boid on the loose. no be counted ball, rock, boa.

Some python species can grow 14 feet or more. Ball pythons on the other hand typically grow 4-5 feet. Snake and other reptiles do NOT only grow to the size of their cages...if the cage is too small the reptile will be stressed, become ill, and cease to grow and thrive. It will usually die under these conditions. My fave BP links:

Pythons continue to grow through their life. The rate of growth depends on environment, nutrition, health, temperature, light, etc... Go to your local library or pet store and get a book on the pythons, it will help you answer many questions about them.

Snakes will continue to grow as big as their environment allows them to. The bigger the habitat, the bigger the snake! That's not to say that a snake in the wild will grow to be a bazillion feet long because it has no limitations, but in realistic standards, snakes in captivity will grow as large as their surroundings.
