I wasted a lot of test that way and didn't get a positive until a couple of days after my missed period. It just depends on how fast your hormone level multiples. Good Luck ;)

On the back of the box it will tell you, for example; 1 day before your missed period: 99% accurate, 2 days: 89% accurate, 3 days: 79% accurate, 4 days: 69% accurate (I'm not sure if those are the exact percentages). So therefore, it may not pick up the hormone too soon. Although, if you saw no lines at all the test may be broken, or you may not have used it right. No lines doesn't mean the test is not picking it up, it means something is wrong with the test. I would suggest taking the other test. The best time to use them is in the morning, the first time that you use the restroom. Good Luck!! =)

If there were no lines, the test was a dud. Call the manufacturer for a refund. You can find out 5 days sooner, but only about 50% can. Your chances of getting an accurate test start going up within a couple of days before your period, but even then only about 80% accurate.

From what I understand, with certain tests (First Response is the one that comes to mind), you can get results that early. But, you have to remember that some women just don't have enough of the pregnancy hormone in their system yet. That's why one woman can get a positive on the day she's supposed to get her period, and another woman will get negatives till she is 8 weeks along. (That's just an example)
If you truly think you are pregnant, and you still don't get your period in a few days, test again. If you still get a negative with no period, I'd say see a doctor.
Good luck, and I hope you get what you want! ^_^

It all depends on the woman and if you are pregnant, how fast the pregnancy hormone is rising and at what rate. The test only detects the HCG hormone and if it isn't high enough yet then you won't get a positive reading. As far as the test not saying anything at all, that could mean that you either had a bad test or the test was expired.

It is true that you can test early but 5 days would be very early and not very reliable if you are looking at a negative. Your test may not be working if you didn't get a control line. Usually there's one line to let you know the test is working then another if it is a positive test. If it is the cost that worries you, try getting the kind from a Dollar Store. They are reliable(enough) and cheap. Good luck!

Some tests say that but the longer you wait the more the pregnancy hormone increases so you can get a positive. Some women it can tell you then and others have to wait for a while after. Some have to get a blood test to determine they are pregnant. I would wait till the day of your late period.

Some of them you can, but they also say that the earlier you use it the more inaccurate the results. The best thing really is to wait until the day after you expect your period that way you know it is 99% right and if your period starts on time or earlier than usualy you didnt waste the test.
I know its easier said than done (trust me, Ive got a test up stairs yelling at me to use it), but it seems to help me if I use a calendar (its a planner that I keep in my backpack) and count out when I expect my next period, then the day after that I write "TEST" in pencil. If my period starts, I just erase it. I dont allow myself to test before that day. Its like a challenge to myself. Its worked so far, right now I have to wait til friday before I can test.

SOME tests say that you can test up to 5 days before...but not ALL of them. Also if you read the fine print it will tell you that for each day away from your expected period the less accurate it is.
All tests say that if you get no lines then the test was deffective or you did something wrong.
