My thoughts are this: Most people are completely and totally terrified by the unknown. Whatever may or may not come to pass in the future is unknown, not to mention that most people like to think that they are in control of every aspect of their life. Thus, when they think of the future and just how uncertain it really is, and how much they are unable to control it, it scares the living crap out of them! (For lack of better terms...)

Well, a lot of people don't like to think about abstractions, and the future is one big abstraction, a mess of possibilities that come to be considered as "inevitable" once they've actually occurred. Maybe most people don't like to envision the future so that they can claim 20/20 vision once it's already become the past.

because they do not want people to know that they are so selfish that they are living the great life not risking anything at all while as long as they continue to do so the next generation will have no life to live. thus, they do not want to admit that they are murderers and people who stand by and do nothing while the whole world continues to grow worse, and while corruption in law and government is growing to unstopable levels. they do not care. this life is all about themselves not others. but most of them call themselves christians, but we all know that true christians lives are about every one else, for the person who saves his own life will lose it. the ones who lay their lives down for others are the ones who will be accepted in the body of christ, for this is what the body of christ is, is to care for others to the point of giving your own life.......

Because they are lazy, selfish fools who think that they won't be here to clean up the mess when the doo doo hits the fan anyway. I believe in the Native American saying "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors - we borrow it from our grandchildren." Pax-C

Blame the "ME" generation...

I don't care about you, it's all about ME...

I'm so into myself that I couldn't possibley give a care about THAT!

We will have to raise a generation of people who give a sh*t before we have people who care about the future.

g-day!
