If you signed off on your parental rights and do not pay child support, then YES, she can change the children's names to anything she wants....and even have them ADOPTED by some other guy... HOWEVER, if you did NOT sign away your parental rights and ARE still paying support---she most certainly CANNOT change the children's names... you have a RIGHT to not allow that in this case.... Ask a lawyer, he will tell you the exact same thing....... but she MIGHT try to do it behind your back .. so STAY IN TOUCH.

Do you and your wife share joint custody of the children? If yes, then she will need your permission which can also be giving in writing. With that said, she could probably fake your signature. If that should happen you do have rights. Just to be sure, speak with your lawyer.

Not legally. She can call them anything she wants to. But when it comes down to it she would have to get an attorney and you would have to agree to have their names changed until they're 18. Once they turn 18 they can have their own name changed.

No, she cannot. You need to let her know that if she attempts to do so, you will seek legal representation. She cannot change their names, or allow her husband to adopt them without your signature.

she can only do it if you have no parental rights i.e. you wasn't married but if you were married then you do have parental rights and have contact, then she can't change their names. i would go and see a solicitor that specialises in family law as they will help you better and give you the right information.
