You need to give it time to adjust to its new home. It may not eat well for a week. You must also make sure all of its needs are being met including tank size, water filter, water heater, basking spot, heat lamp, UVB bulb, and a varied diet. Please read here for complete care by the best experts:

Well first of all it does not matter how long but probably not much because he/she is a baby and he/she may not know what you give her is food so try letting he/she eat off your hand. Do not be afraid, they will not bite and if for some rare reason it will not hurt because he/she is a baby and it will most likely be a playful bite if they do bite.

Sometimes they can take a couple of days to start feeding when put in a new home. I've always had luck with the floating pellets.

give him time and he will start to eat, he needs to get used to his new environment. Mine went through the same thing when I first got him 3 years ago.

try giving him worms they cant resist the m i don't care how uncomfortable he is in his new home p.s. all i feed mine is worms for the past 2 years
