I will be 38 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I have been having contractions and am about 1 1/1 centimeters dialating. I have been having some flu like symptoms like diareha and hot sweats. I also have a UTI and a yeast infection. Anyways When I go to the bathroom I get a sharp pain around my belly button. is that normal? any idea what that is?

Probably the UTI, if it is when you urinate.
In pregnancy, the bladder becomes an abdominal organ as the uterus grows; so you feel the discomfort in your belly, instead of lower pelvis.
How long have you been taking antibiotics? If it's more than two days, and still hurting, call the doc/midwife.

That would be your stomach stretching out - sitting like that (pushing) is probably a position that causes it to stretch more than normal. I wouldn't worry.

Here are some safe and natural ways to help your labor along if you are interested in it.

1. Have a warm bath to help you relax - the more tense you are the longer your body will fight off going into labor

2 Have sex - your husband needs to ejaculate inside of you and he needs to spend a lot of time playing with your nipples - nipple stimulation and a hormone in semen both help induce labor.

3. Lots and lots of walking - no more than an hour at a time (maybe 3 times a day) make sure you take water with you keep hydrated.

4. Eat some good food (thick soup, or a stew), and drink plenty of water - your body will refuse to labor if you are dehydrated.

Lastly do some deep breathing and meditating - your own mental state (being so anxious) can be a cause for your bodies lack of labor.

Good luck - it won't be too long now
