Sometimes I have a difficult time picking a best answer as at times there are so many good answers that I can pick for a best answer. But otherwise I don't struggle all that much when it comes to picking a best answer. I just pick the answer that i like the best and that's the end of the story.

FINALLY someone that understands! I always have a tough time because some of the answers are similar and I feel badly when I don't pick one guy when his answer was great, too! SO..what I do is pick the first answer that was the best and tell the answerers that. :)

I never agonize over that. I have a system. I putt all the names on a dart board, blind fold myself turn with the board behind me and throw the dart over my shoulder.
Whoevers name is hit gets the Best Answer.

If you're agonizing over it then you're not taking this service seriously enough.
Its not a popularity contest.
Ask a question and then pick the one that has the best answer (which is the answer that best helps you understand why you asked the question).

You shouldn't agonize. You should just pick whomever gave you the most information or was a help in your problem. Don't worry about "being nice", just do what you know is right! ;o)

The only reason to feel guilty is if you gave points away to freinds when another person gave a better answer

Yep then I feel guilty about everyone else who had a good answer that I didn't choose. Don't beat yourself up over it, just pick me hahaha. Really though, I think people get over it.
