I have a pair of brown Dr. Martens shoes, and I'm wondering if wearing white socks with blue jeans looks alright? Would another color look better?

Oh, and I should also say that my socks do show a little bit when I sit down, so the jeans aren't completely covering them up. They are while I'm walking, though.

Match the socks to your shoes - go with brown.

Sweetie, you can wear any color you want, but wearing white socks with dark shoes is usually a no-no. I would recommend a pair of brown socks to go with those Doc Martens! Wearing white socks with dark shoes reminds me of the Fonzie era and I wasn't even around then! I would recommend that you save those white socks for white tennis shoes or for wearing around the house.

As long as the jeans are long enough to cover the socks while sitting. Otherwise brown socks - or funky patterned socks with a color that matches your shirt.

If your pants cover the socks then what does it matter? Personally I wear socks that are the same color of my shoes unless they are sneakers. Then I wear white socks. Trouser socks are cheap and many of them are made in cute designs.

White socks are totally fine with jeans..but if you have some I like beige cotton socks. I bought some for my husband for casual Friday dress. I think it just completes the look a little more...

Wear what you want. I think that the white socks will look fine. My husband wears white socks all the time.

ewwww, i guess it might be ok if they are not thick white socks... go to j crew they have cute man, but sexy socks. That's where I get my mans socks, im real picky about these things!
