They help our vocabulary and they're not bad and i've always been told that they're not real but every once and a while there is that one obsessed person who thinks its just to real and freaks out and kills everybody but don't mention that in you project.

Well being a teen that plays violent video games (currently Ninja Gaiden then getting Manhunt 2 next month) I can say it does not make me violent. I have never killed, or even been in a fight, with another person. I'm calm, take a lot of advanced classes and aside from the occasional rant about stuff that pisses me off I generally don't have anything against anybody. Think about it this way, it's either kids killing each other in a virtual server or killing people in real life because they don't have a hobby and become degenerates, your choice really. Oh and to the dumb sack of **** who thinks nobody plays video games, the video game industry is especially prosperous now, so get with the times and get out from under your rock.

Teens should be allowed to play violent video games. There's been some research done showing that teens who play first-person games (like role-playing, or some types of shooting games) have improved peripheral vision, among other things.
Also, playing violent video games doesn't cause teenagers to become more violent in and of itself. Many factors including parental involvement, genetic predisposition, socio-economic status, and the neighborhood all play a role in shaping the aggression of teenagers.
Teenagers are at an age where they can distinguish reality from fantasy, so it's not like they believe the video gaming world is real. It is also a form of entertainment, just like playing a musical instrument or a sport. In dangerous neighborhoods, it could help keep kids off the street. Video-gaming gives friends something to talk about, too.

I think they should be allowed, sure. I don't think there's enough research to support the opposite. Parents should monitor what their children do and not pass off their inability to raise their children as the fault of society. I grew up playing video games, violent and otherwise, and I have no criminal record and a great relationship with my parents.
Say I am holding a knife. Whether or not I choose to stab you with it has nothing to do with what type of video games I play. There are plenty of violent criminals out there (of all ages) who have never touched a video game controller in their lives, just as I am sure there are criminals who played video games all day and night. If anything, I'd say it's a matter of socialization; not spending time with other people can cause you to feel isolated and depressed. But is it the violence in games that cause people to kill? No.

I think that teens should be allowed to play violent video games because teens watch rated PG-13 movies and rated R movies and sometimes the movies are just as bad or worse than the games in violence.
Basically a rated M game is like a rated R movie because they both can have similiar content like: Nudity, Blood, Strong Language and other content. So just because a video game has intense violence, it doesn't really make it worse because the movie can be just as bad.

Violence has been around since the beginning of time and teens have been around it the entire time, people seem to think that crimes have been worse because of video games, but when you look at it, John Lennon wasn't killed because of video games, Jack the ripper didn't kill because he played GTA, John wayne gacy didn't have an Xbox...
people will always find something to blame the problems of America on. Video games have become a scapegoat for parents who refuse to pay close enough attention to their children to see a problem.
I've played Violent video games my whole life, and watched Violent Movies, and I have not been desensitized to anything...
I know this because recently I was towing a hit and run (I'm a tow truck driver now) and it was my first fatality that I had to see (and clean) and I couldn't sleep for 2 days...

Violent video games are not going to be a sole cause of problems in later life. If a teenager is influenced by a violent video game, they probably have a deeper influence toward the same violent tendencies elsewhere in their life. A video game alone will not be a sole influence.

definite, babies could be allowed to purchase violent video games as long using fact the violence would not harm oneself or others. video games are no longer genuine and that they could have not have been given any damaging impact over ones social habit or strikes. young ones are and could be extra beneficial than able to differentiating between video games and actuality. i'm in my previous due babies and that i've got performed video games with violence for years, I even have in no way had an urge to duplicate any of the violence i've got witnessed or felt negatively laid low with it. do exactly no longer pass hitting those with sticks and each thing could be superb

Yes they should games do not make people kill people i
have played violent games for 10 years and i haven't killed anyone and i think people who look to blame games or films for violent youth it is merely a scapegoatfor the reakl reason which i believe to be poor parenting and lack of discipline at schools.
