I am supposed to come up with a terrorist organization and carry out a terrorist attack for a class project but I do not believe in genocide, therefore I am trying to figure something out that would attack perhaps the economy or market, resulting in little or no deaths...

In America the burden of proof rests on the accuser. The accused is assumed to be innocent until proven guilty. Knowing a thing to be true is far more easy than proving that thing to be so. The accusers would need to show that these fast food places had"intent". The accusers would have to bring evidence of the fact that these foods are the ACTUAL and only true CAUSE of the health problems. The NATURE of the law suit itself would make it near impossible to prove the associations between the foods and the resulting health issues. The genetics of the INDIVIDUAL unhealthy persons would come into play. Each and every company would bring a gang of lawyers to their defence. The people that are bringing the suit would have to first AGREE on certain issues of the suit, and then they would need to hire a very strong legal team to prove the cases. Each case would have to stand alone on its own merits.Personally,I think that this would be just plain IMPOSSIBLE because there are too many unavoidable problems to be solved BEFORE the suit can even be brought. The cost of the necessary investigations of both the products sold and of the intentions of the different companies to do harm,,,would be very great. The HEALTH studies would cost a great deal also. This whole idea is just too far from a reasonable possibility to be seriously considered. The forward thinking person would FIRST start to attack this problem by trying to INFORM the VICTIMS. Informed victims that do not stop eating at these places are making a conscience choice to SUPPORT the "enemy" by investing their cash in the collective money pot of the VILLAINS that they SAY are causing their illnesses. This "terrorist" plot is doomed to fail. I am glad that you do not approve of genocide, but since this is a class project which is completely IMAGINARY to start with,,,,,,,I do not see the harm of making a rally realistic plan. The nature of terrorism as we are experiencing it in today's world is genocide. Without genocide there would be no point to the terrorism. I do not approve of genocide nor do I approve of terrorism,,,but I do approve of you getting a better grade on this school assignment. Think up a different terrorist activity that is more realistic and bloody. The public is not really "terrorized" without a great deal of BLOODSHED!

The best ways to build a terrorist organization is to go into our school system and have them learn from their instructors how to come up with a terrorist organization. I do not recall anywhere in history where we have taught our young people this sort of thing in the US. Your teacher should be publicly chastised before being fired and prosecuted as a terrorist leader.

The whole point of terrorism is "terror". Trying to make changes in political policy by generating fear. While killing is certainly the easiest way to create fear, it is not the only way.

1) Blow up a school while nobody is there (at night?). Then threaten that if desired changes are not made, then your children are not safe. Lots of fear, but nobody actually dies.

2) Attack infrastructure. This could be roads, bridges, airports, etc.

3) Attack the economy. Lots of ways to do this, but hard to do on a large scale unless you have a HUGE organization.

Terrorism is a method of controlling opinion and coercing a population based on fear. That being said, committing an act of terrorism need not occur. As pointed out, the rhetoric of the Bush administration, telling us to fear terrorists, is in itself a form of terrorism. It controls the population through fear (or tries to). Another example might be environmentalists who threaten you that the planet will be unable to sustain life unless we take massive action now. In both cases, no one dies, but people fear what they are told (some do).

Hmmm probably not going to get too many answers the day before 9/11. I would say something that would cause the inflation of the U.S. dollar.

Clever. We get your point. Education is full of liberals who support terrorists.

Thanks for your satirical overgeneralization.
