It's actually very normal behaviour. Little children and babies are very confusing with their sleeping patterns. It will all pass sooner or later.-

Welcome to parenthood. The first few days of life baby sleeps a whole bunch then comes week one...suddenly baby is more alert and more aware of surrounding. This means that the lump in the bed might actually cause him to wake up and let you know about it. Sleeping like a baby isn't a good thing and whoever coined that phrase is an idoit that has never watched a baby sleep. Babies wake often and are generally light sleepers for the first few months at least.

Very normal. Check out "The Happiest Baby on the Block" by Harvey Karp. That book was a lifesaver for us! It has a lot of great sleep tips.

Is everything else the same? Feeds, burps, poops? Fever?
Babies get a growth spurt at two weeks, six weeks, three months, and six months. All they want to do is eat, and sleep.
If he isn't sleeping, up his feeds.
Is he a breast baby? Feed five more minutes on each side.
Is he a bottle baby? Add 1/2 to one ounce each feeding.
He will settle down in a few days, then do it again in four weeks.

When they are this young, nothing makes sense. The world is scary and cold.
Trust me, at one month, they get better. At two months, even better. At three, they are a lot of fun. Just do your best to comfort him. Cuddle him, swaddle him, hold him. Whatever he needs. You'll be fine.

Congrats on the baby! I just love babies. It could be your little darling has colic. It lasts up to three months. Each child that has it handles it differently. All three of my children had it, but the last one was the worst.

Babies are supposed to wake up quite often for feedings and diaper changes. Everything is still new to this baby. He/she hasn't got used to living on his/her own yet.
