If you take your ignition key and push the tip of the key into the vertical slot next to the maintenance light you can reset the indicator to green.
the indicator works off of the speedometer and it is there to let you know that your car is due for a periodic service. All services have an oil change. Based on the mileage other services, such as spark plug replacement, filter replacement, valve adjustment or transmission service may also be due. At a minimum, an oil change is due. Reset the indicator after the service and it will come back on in about another 4,000 miles.

the maintemance lights in Honda's, Acura's, Toyota's, and Lexus come on when you need an oil change and/or oil filter. The oil filter usually comes with the oil change.

i think that one just means you need and oil change should have a reset button
