You have positive middle and last terms, so your two factors will have "+" in the middle. Also, 7 only factors into 1*7. So you're looking for something in the form of (?x + 1)(?x + 7).

Now you just need to find two numbers whose product is 6, and sum of 1 times one of them and 7 times the other is 23. The combination that works is (3x + 1)(2x + 7).

6x²+23x+7 =

(3X * 2x) + 2x + 21x + 7 =

2x (3x+1) + 7 (3x+1) =

(2x + 7) (3x +1)
