I'm in 10th grade and i think i really want to be one. And i wanted to know what sort of classes are colleges looking for? I want to be able to plan my 11 and 12th grade years on what colleges are looking for.
Thanks!

What classes or courses you take in High School have little bearing on college entrance. For meteorology, a lot of coursework is focused on chenistry, physics, geology, or anything relating to physical science. In college you'll really focus a lot on mathematics; specifically statistics, etc. Whatever courses in math and science you take in high school will help you to better understand your college coursework.

Contact your local college and ask them. Also, check the homepage of your area's tv stations and see if they have links to their 'personalities'.....click on the meteorologists and see where they went to college. Contact these colleges as well and ask them what you should take.
Best wishes and many happy days in your future!

PBBBPHFSH! I'm a Jedi! What do you think?
Actually from an AV point of view I worked as a videographer and relied HEAVELY on the local news and the weather... So I have great respect for them... Even if they are Siths...

A&M in Texas has a really good school for meteorology. I was interested once, but I am not good at math, and I heard they use a lot of math.
Good Luck!

with all the bad things humans are doing to the planet,
by the time you get to be a meteorologist,
there would be no more planet
